He returned and aided his father in starting a polyester filament yarn (PFY) manufacturing enterprise. He began his career with ‘Reliance Industries in 1981. He was instrumental in Reliance’s backward integration strategy, which began with textiles and progressed to polyester fiber and, finally, petrochemicals. He managed the development of 51 new world-class manufacturing facilities that used various technologies, significantly boosting Reliance’s manufacturing capacity.
